Your Wellness, Our Priority
Our residents participate in a wide variety of weekly wellness activities and exercise programs. Each activities and exercise at Azalea Estates is designed to stimulate the mind, body and spirit. Led by our experienced Wellness and Activities coordinator, who has a BS degree in Science and Exercise Physiology and has been with us for over 10 years, we see improvements in many of our resident’s physical and mental wellbeing over a short period of time.
We encourage and empower each resident at Azalea Estates to stay active and independent. Our Wellness Center is a 3,000 square feet hub of activity that is designed, programmed, and staffed to address each resident’s physical wellbeing. Included are an indoor heated pool, workout area, locker rooms, and wellness room. Our Wellness Center is utilized by not only our residents but also outside groups and visiting health care professionals.
Our indoor, heated, saltwater aerobic pool offer residents the benefits of aquatic therapy. The elimination of fear of falling while exercising in the warm water along with weightlessness are reasons why seniors benefit so much from the aquatic exercise.
Our aquatic workouts, which can be done individually or in a group, provide a cardiovascular burn with light resistance. Water provides resistance against the body preventing any of your joints from moving too quickly. The buoyancy of the water helps to support a portion of your weight, reducing the load on your joints. Exercising in water makes you feel about 90% lighter, and water produces 12 times the resistance of air on your body.

Individual and group floor exercise programs are also offered by our experienced, trained staff and are a big focus of our Wellness program. We focus on each resident’s own particular needs as we do an initial assessment with each resident. We consult with his/her physician and develop an exercise plan that will concentrate on the greatness needs for each person. Whether it’s a group chair exercise class, fall prevention and strength and conditioning classes, or a more individualized regimen, we are committed to helping you take control of your own health and wellbeing. We know it works and you will feel better, look better and think better with proper, regular exercise.
